Methodology: This study surveyed 3,021 adults across the United States and Canada in July 2026 to identify the residential neighborhoods that best capture the character and identity of each U.S. state and Canadian province. Respondents were asked to consider the neighborhoods they felt most closely represented the everyday culture, atmosphere, architecture, community, and overall sense of place associated with their state or province. Responses were aggregated to produce state- and province-level rankings, with the highest-ranked neighborhood identified as the location that best represents each area. Demographic quotas and weighting were applied where appropriate to ensure the sample was broadly representative of the adult population by age, gender, and region across both countries.
